Lake Norman’s traffic and roadways had a big news week with multiple projects either announced or provided new updates:
There may potentially be a new exit on I-77 near Cornelius to help release traffic tensions.
One stretch of widening NC 150 in Mooresville is estimated to begin in 2025, but recent advancements could move that start date up.
NCDOT provided some explanations why some previously announced road projects keep getting delayed.

Atrium Health is filing to relocate 23 acute care beds from Carolinas Medical Center to Atrium Health Lake Norman, which is currently under contsruction.
Charlotte Water has requested permission to transfer additional water from the Catawba River Basin to the Rocky River Basin to help meet current needs.
The Lake Norman Marine Commission is resuming their Dock Lifesaving Ring program, which provides free US Coast Guard approved life rings to anyone with a dock on Lake Norman.
